The images featured on this page illustrate examples of 17th and 18th century drinking glasses and glassware that were offered for sale at our May 2013 glass fair. In the weeks leading up to our next fair we will update the gallery and add new images of the glass that will be available to buy on Sunday 10 November 2013.

Large Baluster Goblet

Featuring a conical bowl with solid base and tear with a merese over a rare ball knop, basal knop and folded foot. A rare glass.

With a solid based round funnel bowl above a teared mushroom knop and basal knop standing on a conical folded foot.

Georgian Sweetmeat Glass C. 1760

A double ogee bowl with everted lip sits above a single series multi-spiral opaque twist stem, composed of very tightly packed canes, with an inverted baluster shoulder knop standing on a radially notched foot. Height, 7.5cm.

Wine Goblet

The ovoid bowl is wheel engraved with a fruiting vine and a dove. The plain stem stands on a plain conical foot with broken pontil mark.

"Newcastle" Light Baluster Glass

Featuring a conical bowl supported by a cushioned shoulder knop above a teared knop and half knop, which leads to an inverted baluster knop and double basal knop. The glass has a plain conical foot.

Cordial Glass

An opaque twist cordial glass with helmet or domed foot. The bowl is of round funnel style with an etched swag border and basal honeycomb moulding above a double series white opaque twist stem, which contains a pair of spiral tapes surrounded by a single 15-ply spiral band - all raised on a domed foot.

Wine Goblet

A triple series opaque twist wine goblet with bucket bowl above an opaque twist stem, comprised of an inner core inside a spiral gauze which is in turn surrounded by a pair of spiral tapes - all standing on a plain conical foot.

18th Century Drinking Glasses

Large Early Georgian Goblet

Featuring a conical bowl above a four-sided pedestal or Silesian stem with elongated tear standing on a folded conical foot.

Heavy Baluster Dram Glass

The funnel bowl is diamond point engraved with "A Change so swift what Heart did ever feel" and a heart. The teared ball knopped stem stands on a plain foot.

Giant Ale Glass

The elongated conical bowl is engraved with hops and barley, leading to a short stem with large basal ball knop standing on a plain conical foot.

A Georgian Wine Goblet

The cup bowl sits above a double series opaque twist stem, standing on a plain conical foot.

Friendship Goblet

The round funnel bowl features elaborate Dutch engraving with a floral theme & two hearts, clasping hands holding a wine glass and a later engraved legend 'EEN GLASSSIE VAN VRINDSCHAP'. The glass stands on a composite light baluster stem with beaded knop on a plain conical foot.

C. 1750

Large Facet Stem Goblet

The waisted ogee bowl is decorated with a quality floral border. The lower part of the bowl is bridge cut to a flute cut stem with alternately notched edges - all standing on a plain conical foot.
